Upcoming at Helgoland: Dale Hickey 1989, 1990. The third exhibition in the gallery’s 2026 curatorial program.

Developed in collaboration with the Hickey Archive, this presentation brings together two significant large-scale paintings created in 1989 and 1990. Shown publicly for the first time in nearly four decades. These works offer a rare opportunity to experience an important period within the Hickey oeuvre.

Presented through Helgoland’s ongoing collaboration with the Hickey Archive, this exhibition marks the beginning of a broader project dedicated to researching, contextualising and sharing the career of one of Australia’s most important artists.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday July 25 to Saturday September 5 2026.
